                                     Transport-routes

A Route map is a map that shows the main roads in a particular area or the main routes used by buses, trains and other forms of transport in a particular area. Land Transport, Water Transport and Air transport follows a particular/specific route to reach their destination.

Roadways

Roadways are the means of transport for the people living in both rural and urban   areas.

 The vehicles used are buses, cars, trucks, bicycles, autos/cabs, motorcycle, etc.

Railways

They form the largest network of routes for travelling long distances within a country.

Airways

Airways are generally used as a means of transport to travel from one country to

another or within the country to save time.

 

Q1. Stick a route map of Salalah in your science note book and trace the route from the place you stay to school.

 

 Q2. Do roadways and airways follow the same route to a particular destination?

 

Q3. Why do people prefer airways over railways/road ways?
