i. Pivot Joint:

A ring rotates around a pivot.

In this joint one bone rotates
around the other bone.

Allows movements up-down and sideways.
·
example: the joint between the skull and the spine in the neck region.
ii. Ball and socket Joint:

The end of one bone has a ball shape to it. It fits into the end of
another bone
that has a round hollow in it that looks
like a cup.
·
Allows movement in all directions.
·
Example: shoulder joint, hip joint.
