Birla Fest 2016-17 – Instructions for Participants
Important note:
1.
All the participants should report at
5:00 pm.
2.
Participants to come in their respective
costumes with necessary makeup.
3.
Kindly send sufficient water with your
ward. Snacks will be provided by school. However, you can also send if
required.
4.
Mark your ward’s bag and water bottle.
5.
Send an extra plastic carry bag and a
small face towel.
6.
CCA certificates will be with the school
and it will be sent on Sunday with your ward to ensure it reaches safely.
7.
Parents can collect their children only
after the last program.

to the non-participants, nursery and KG students.
Students who are not participating in the Birla Fest
program, need not come to school on Wednesday, 22nd March and

All participants and compering students must be
present on Wednesday and Thursday.

Make necessary arrangements (lunch, pick up from

Dear Parents,
This is to inform you that soon after the SA 2 exams, which will
commence from 3rd May to 11th May, there will be a short
break of nine days from 12th May to 20th May, 2017 for Grade 1 to 5.
The new session will begin from 21st May
to 20th June 2017. The timing will be from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm during
Ramadan.
The annual leave/ summer break will begin from 20th
June to 20th August 2017.

May 2017.
KG 2 promoted to Grade 1 will be having an
orientation (training for reading, writing, speaking and mental Maths) from 17th
April to 30th April.
From 1st May to 20th May it
will be holidays for them.
New session as Grade 1 for KG 2 will begin from 21st May.
The holidays for KG 1 promoted to KG 2 will be from
16th April to 30th April 2017.

Some ways to
store water are: -
1. Build dams – A dam is a very strong
wall built to hold water.
2. Rainwater harvesting- Rainwater is
stored, filtered and used later.
Q. Explain
the process of water purification.
Ans. There
are many ways of water purification. Some are as follows:-
1. Boiling – this is the simplest way to
purify water. Boiling for at least ten minutes will kill the germs in it.
2. Sedimentation – Water is allowed to
stand still in big containers, without being touched for a few hours. All the
mud and other sediments will settle down at the bottom of the container. The
water is separated gently without disturbing the sediments. This process of
separating impurities from water is called sedimentation.
3. Filtration – This is the process of
separating solids from liquids by pouring the content through a medium.
4. Chlorination – it is the process of
adding chlorine to water for purifying it to make it fit for drinking.
