2. What are crops?
Ans: Plants of the same kind grown on a large scale are
known as crops.

product that can be eaten. e.g. rice, wheat, beans

Cash Crops: Crops are specially grown for
profit. e.g. coffee, tea, cardamom.

Fiber Crops: Fiber Crops grown for their
fibers. e.g. Jute, Cotton.
3. What is deforestation?
Ans: Deforestation is
the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for
other uses, ie; Deforestation refers to
cutting down of trees in forested areas.
4 What are the causes of deforestation?

1. Need to increase land for settlements, urbanization and agriculture.
2. Timber, for industrial use and as
fuel.

forests cover a third of all land on Earth. They
are important because They help us to breathe,
