This is to inform you that we have revised our homework
policy for more effectiveness of students learning outcome which will be followed
from 2nd Dec, 2018.
After School Learning Practice
The learning happening inside
the classroom need to be strengthened and reinforced so that what is learning
is absorbed by mind. This is the aim of issuing after school works in the form
of Home Works, Worksheets, etc. However the same should not be overloaded and
should not encroach into the personal timings of the child in such a way he
misses his family and friendly times in the social circle. In view of this
school has decided to introduce an After School Learning system as follows:
The system is divided into
three parts:
1. HOME WORK (HW)– Aim of HW is to enforce what is
learnt in the class on that day or the previous days. The HW will not be heavy
but simple three to four activities or questions or memorization points so that
the basic concepts learned would be absorbed in mind. This could also be given
in the class notebook or from the Workbook given by the school. Questions will
be uploaded in the blog or referred from the work book or given in the class
note and will be informed by the teacher through blog communication .
2. WORKSHEETS (W/S) – Aim of W/S is to further
enforce the learning of concepts and above all to ensure the learning of
application of the concepts, support and develop conceptual thinking and
learning. The W/S will be normally consisting of 10 – 15 questions. Printed
worksheets will be given from the school.
3. OPTIONAL WORKSHEETS (Op W/S) – Aim of Op W/S is to
cater to the needs of those children who are interested to put an extra mileage
in learning and willing to put extra efforts to learn beyond the requirements.
This is not compulsory and optional to anyone and would
consisting of higher order thinking skills questions and might be out of the
syllabus but relevant to the topic/lesson. This will be loaded in the blog so
that anyone interested could note down the question numbers and answer against
the same in the notebook.
