1.What is vegetation?
Ans: Vegetation is the plant life or the plant ground cover of a region.

2.What is natural vegetation ?
Natural vegetation is any tree or plant which grows naturally, without human intervention. It includes forests, grasslands and shrubs.

2. What are crops?
Ans: Plants of the same kind grown on a large scale are known as crops.

TYPES OF CROPS

·        Food Crops: Food crops are any agricultural product that can be eaten. e.g. rice, wheat, beans
·        Cash Crops: Crops are specially grown for profit. e.g. coffee, tea, cardamom.
·        Fiber Crops: Fiber Crops grown for their fibers. e.g. Jute, Cotton.

3. What is deforestation?
Ans: Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for other uses, ie; Deforestation refers to cutting down of trees in forested areas.

4 What are the causes of deforestation?
Ans:  1. Need to increase land for settlements, urbanization and agriculture.
          2. Timber, for industrial use and as fuel.
          3. Mining etc.

5. What is the impact of deforestation?
Ans: 1. Loss of the natural habitat of many plant and animal     
               Species.
          2.  Amount of rainfall decreases.
          3.  Soil erosion.

6. Why do we need to save forest?
Ans: We need to save forest because forests cover a third of all land on Earth. They are important because They help us to breathe, They keep Earth cool, They fight flooding, They clean up dirty soil, They clean up dirty air etc..
