STRATOSPHERE
Up to 50 km (30 miles)
·        Most of the ozone in our atmosphere is found here.
·        The stratosphere contains more of ozone and less of water vapour.
·        The composition of the stratosphere is chemically similar to the lower atmosphere: 99 percent nitrogen and oxygen and 1 percent trace gases.
·        Molecules are not closely packed.
TROPOSPHERE
Up to 16 km (10 miles)
·        This is the layer closest to Earth, where all living things are found.
·        It is also the layer where weather occurs and jets fly
·        Contains molecules like nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%) and other gases (1%).
·        The molecules are very closely placed.

      A map is a two-dimensional representation of a certain region of the world.

      It is easily portable.


      It gives detailed information on any part of the world.


      A globe is a three-dimensional representation of the whole of the world.

      It cannot be carried easily.


      It gives only limited information.


Q.4. Write notes on latitudes and longitudes.
Ans. Latitudes
      Latitudes are imaginary lines that run from east to west.
      Equator is the longest latitude running at 00. It divides the earth into two equal halves, the Northern and the Southern Hemisphere.
       There are 180 latitudes of unequal size.
        Longitudes
       Longitudes are the imaginary lines that run from north to south.
        Prime Meridian is the main longitude running at 00.It divides the Earth into Eastern and the Western Hemisphere.
      There are 360 longitudes. 

Both of these latitudes and longitudes intersect each other and help in locating places.
